10,000 years ago, Kars invented the Stone Mask to become immortal. Kars slaughtered all but three of his race after they turned against him. On February 28, 1939, Kars blocks the magma with an insulating layer of air bubbles and emerges, slicing off Joseph's hand. Joseph subconsciously holds up the Super Aja, which magnifies the energy into the volcano causing it to erupt. Joseph and Kars are blasted into the air on a large rock. Joseph's severed arm hits Kars and distracts him long enough to be knocked into space by more flying rocks...
