PLOT
Roommates Mao Tsuchiya and Hisashi Ootomo make three promises in front of a camera: Mao must keep Hisashi's sexuality and relationship a secret; Hisashi must refrain from pursuing Mao romantically; and neither should intrude on the other's personal time. As they enter their second year of living together, these promises are tested when the film club Mao belongs to casts Hisashi as the lead in their new movie—a boys' love story featuring a delinquent and a class president. Mao, committed to the promise, tries to dissuade Hisashi from taking the role, but Hisashi agrees to it with ease. Mao becomes increasingly aware of Hisashi, especially given the role he is playing. Although Mao knows Hisashi is just a friend and out of reach, he struggles to keep his own feelings in check as his attraction grows stronger, complicating their promises and his own emotions.
